The room reserved for the Kings of France in the past

This Royal Room crosses the entire Château and has a magnificent view on each side, over the peaceful countryside of the Morvan. The sun rises into the room on the side overlooking the park at the back of the castle and the sun sets into the bathroom on the front façade.

History

This room was reserved in the past for the Kings of France during their stay in Bourgogne.  Its size and decoration are historical: the parquet floor and woodwork, made of oak and the large marble fireplace are all original ( using fireplace is not available due to fire safety ).

The 5m40 high French ceilings with the royal “Fleurs-de-Lys” have been restored respecting traditional 17th century techniques.

Furnishing

Very beautiful four-poster King size bed, stately taffeta and velvet curtains, and Louis 13th style furniture, magnificent Persian carpets. Warm colours traditionally used in that period.

Bathroom

The most beautiful and biggest bathroom in the Château enjoying the sun set in the evening.

Large windows overlooking the front park and the magnificent sycamore tree, classified as a remarkable 400-year-old tree, as well as the 13th century “Historical Monument” dungeon.

Two independent washbasins, separate and vast shower, a large bath for 2 and a separate toilette.  Magnificent ceramics, made in Rambouillet workshops, of large bird frescos. The bathroom fittings are in shape of fish. Floors are of ivory marble.

Comfort

Independent dressing, WiFi, flat screen TV, satellite with French and International channels, Canal +, beIn sport for most of the major sports events and children’s channels. Direct telephone line.  Minibar. Safe.
